How do I know if this is the right class for me?
This class is perfect for you if you have never played Mahjong before or need a clear, step-by-step introduction to the game. No prior experience is needed—we will guide you through the fundamentals in a relaxed and supportive environment.
What should I bring?
No need to bring anything.
We provide the venue, tables, and all Mahjong materials including tiles, racks, mats, and 2026 cards. Light snacks and beverages are also provided.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes. Registration is required, as seating is limited to ensure a personalized and enjoyable experience.
What will I learn?
Our Mahjong 101 class is designed for complete beginners and focuses on building confidence in a fun and welcoming environment.
You will learn:
Tile recognition and how to read the tiles.
Understanding the NMJL card.
The flow of the game and basic gameplay.
The Charleston and passing tiles.
Calling tiles and beginner strategy.
How to build a hand and gain confidence at the table.
By the end of class, you will feel comfortable joining Open Play and continuing to practice with others.
What are my options after this class?
After completing Mahjong 101, you can continue building your skills by joining our Open Play Nights or Mahjong 102 strategy classes.
What is the Refund Policy
Due to limited seating, no refunds will be issued.
What is the Cancellation Policy
Guests must cancel at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled start time to avoid a $10 late cancellation or no-show fee. This allows us to adjust scheduling and offer availability to others.
