FAQs
Do I need to know how to play?
For open play, some experience is recommended, as this is an open play format and players should be familiar with the general flow of the game. We do have a couple of tables designed for Mahjong 101 players who have never played before and want the opportunity to join open play.
What should I bring?
Guests are welcome to bring beverages / snacks from home or their favorite Downtown Smyrna spot. We provide the venue, tables, and setup.
Are beginners welcome?
Yes. While basic knowledge is helpful, beginner-friendly tables are available for those looking to gain confidence and experience in a supportive setting.
Why is there a cost for open play?
Because this is a venue-based event, there are costs associated with renting and preparing the space. It allows us to offer a fun, safe, and consistent place to gather and play.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes. Registration is recommended, as seating is limited.
If I do not know how to play, what are my options?
We recommend taking one of our Mahjong 101 classes, listed on our calendar. These classes are designed to teach the fundamentals and prepare you to confidently join Open Play Nights.
What is your Refund Policy
Due to limited seating, no refunds will be issued.
Cancellation Policy
Guests must cancel class reservations at least 4 hours before the scheduled start time to avoid a $10 late cancellation/no-show fee. This will allow us to offer your seat to others on the waitlist.
